For our last day in Dubrovnik we decided to treat ourselves with a day by the sea, hiring some super comfy sunbeds and just relaxing. Before that though Grant had a meeting with the manager of the campsite to discuss the bill in view of the disturbance we’d had as a result of the two weekend events. Grant had emailed the manager (on the advice of the reception staff who were obviously unhappy about the events too!) and within a few minutes had a call from him to arrange a meeting for the Monday morning. So off he went, negotiating skills honed, and he wasRead More →

This is the unedited version according to Karen and Geoff – the publishers accept no responsibility for any defamation or inaccurate reporting.  Read on….. Well what can we say…We had a fantastic time….It was so nice to be met by Grant & Karol, looking tanned, chilled & happy, needless to say looking 10 years younger as well !! Croatia was beautiful, having never been before it was a lovely introduction to this beautiful country flying into Dubrovnik over some of the most beautiful islands we have seen. We apologise for the shocking lack of updates since he left you on this cliffhanger but hopefully we can rectify your lack of entries. He needs you all to know that this was only £35 and I’m sorry I failed initially at including this vital fact. I haven’t admitted to Mum and Dad that I haven’t readRead More →

One of the (many) upshots of your parents being out of the country for an extended period of time is that you are forced to grow into a mature, confident adult, who does not need to call them 24/7 with probing questions about “water pressure,” and “which pans work on induction hobs.” You are expected to make rational decisions, bold choices with plenty of time to spare, and make sure you are self-sufficient enough to pay for this when the time comes. So invariably any mistake you make is going to be very late in the day to fix, and also bloody expensive. Thus onRead More →
